Day 36 / Dzien 36.

We’re still stuck. A night of guilty tobacco pleasures gave us horrendous stomach problems.

People watching has been keeping us busy. And fine people watching it is. Last night in the store’s restroom Lee encountered a guy sitting in a stalk, unrolling endless lengths of toilet paper and laughing hysterically. Lee waited around a long time, curious to see who this guy was. Today I watched a man in a car parked next to ours, who unaware of my presence has been doing an extensive nose digging. The culmination of the show was him licking his fingers clean.

It’s sad what our Alaskan experience has been reduced to so far.

Last minute news: the problem was diagnosed. The serpentine belt was off. The Walmart mechanics helped us put it back on.

Nadal jestesmy uziemieni. Noc grzesznych tytoniowych przyjemnosci zakonczyla sie straszliwymi problemami zoladkowymi.

Obserwowanie ludzi zapelnia nasz czas. Interesujace sa to obserwacje. Wczoraj Lee napotkal w sklepowej toalecie faceta, ktory odwijal nieskonczone ilosci papieru toaletowego, smiejac sie przy tym histerycznie. Lee dlugo czekal az facet wyjdzie, zeby zobaczyc jak on wyglada. Dzisiaj ja z kolei obserwowalam mezczyzne w samochodzie zaparkowanym tuz obok, ktory nieswiadomy mojej obecnosci, udzielal sie poglebionemu dlubaniu w nosie. To nie koniec. Show zakonczyl sie dokladnym oblizywaniem palcow.

To smutne, do czego zredukowana do tej pory jest nasza przygoda na Alasce.

Z ostatniej chwili: problem zostal zdiagnozowany. Spadl pas napedowy. Mechanicy z Walmartu pomogli nam go zalozyc.
