When the New Yorkers are summering in the Hamptons, the Bostonians can be found in Cape Cod. Our family's family has a house there too. They invited us for a pre-season weekend. Off we went! On the map, Cape Cod looks much like a muscular arm of a circus strongman. On one side of the arm, there is the ocean, on the other, there is the bay, and the fist is grasping the famous Provincetown. We stayed around the elbow.

Kiedy Nowojorczycy spędzają wakacje i letnie weekendy w Hamptons, Bostończyków znaleźć można w Cape Cod. Rodzina naszej rodziny też ma tam dom. Zaprosili nas na przedsezonowy weekend. No to pojechaliśmy! Na mapie Cape Cod wygląda jak muskularne ramię cyrkowego siłacza. Po jednej stronie ramienia ocean, po drugiej zatoka, w pięści słynne Provincetown. My zamieszkaliśmy w okolicach łokcia.

The Rambler used to be a railway terminal, now it has a new residential/business life. It's owners don't give a damn about architectural convenances.

Rambler kiedyś był budynkiem kolejowym, ale teraz ma drugie życie - mieszkalno-biurowe. Jego właściciele zupełnie wypięli się na architektoniczne konwenanse.

The roof is topped with solar panels and wind turbines. Old chains and boiler pipes have been used in constructing the roof deck. The building is heated with a vegetable oil boiler and insulated with carpet scraps. The owners use a wood-burning stove and a composting toilet, and a rainwater harvesting system is in the works.
