Oregon has been driving us crazy.
$5 to hike a trail.
$5 to walk on a beach.
$5 to launch a boat (not that we have one, but still!).
$5 to use a bathroom.
Could we pay? Yeah, we could. But we’re not willing to. Today we went to see the Oregon dunes at the National Recreation Area. Which, of course, is accessible for a fee. Fees are self-paid, so we pretended that we paid. We figured that as long as we display a stub under our windshield, we should be fine. It’d take them a while to figure out that a matching envelope with money is not in the drop box.
The dunes were pretty impressive; at least I thought so, Lee’s ‘not into dunes’. I was terrified to learn that it is legal to climb them or even destroy them with quads. In Poland dunes are off limits. And so I refused to walk on them and as a result didn’t get a chance to admire them from the beach side.
Oregon doprowadza nas do szalu.
$5 zeby wejsc na szlak.
$5 zeby pochodzic po plazy.
$5 zeby zwodowac lodke (lodki my nie mamy, ale jednak!).
$5 zeby skorzystac z ubikacji.
Czy moglibysmy zaplacic? Moglibysmy. Ale nie mamy zamiaru. Dzisiaj wybralismy sie zobaczyc oregonskie wydmy w Narodowym Obszarze Rekreacji.
