The night was a little better than the one before.
This is what I wore to bed:
-T-shirt
-long sleeve shirt
-hoodie (hood in use)
-undies
-leggings
-sweats
-2 pairs thick cotton socks
-winter socks
I was still cold but it was bearable.
We drove to Fairbanks. We discovered that the van has 8 leaks and the transmission is not working again even with manual shifting. We went to Walmart to get fluids, in hopes that it would help until we get to a recommended mechanic in Talkeetna. Lee did a little maintenance and as a result we lost breaks and steering.
So we're stuck in Walmart parking lot. To make ourselves feel a bit better, we got some guilty pleasure items: a can of dip, a pack of cigarettes and a gossip magazine. I'm off to getting drunk. P.S. It started snowing.
Zgadnijcie, co dzisiaj zrobilismy? Wstalismy, wypilismy kawe i pojechalismy na Alaske. Tak.
Wczorajsza noc byla nieco lepsza niz ta poprzednia.
Oto co mialam na sobie:
-tiszert
-koszulke z dlugim rekawem
-bluze z kapturem (kaptur w uzyciu)
-majtalony
-leggingsy
-spodnie z dresu
-dwie pary grubych skarpet bawelnianych
-skarpety zimowe
Bylo zimno, ale do wytrzymania.
Dojechalismy do Fairbanks. Odkrylismy, ze van ma 8 wyciekow i skrzynia biegow znowu nie dziala, nawet z reczna zmiana biegow. Pojechalismy do Walmartu zeby kupic plyny (oleje?), w nadziei, ze to pomoze do czasu, kiedy dotrzemy do polecanego mechanika w Talkeetna. Lee popracowal troche nad panem vanem, i w rezultacie stracilismy hamulce i sterowanie.
A wiec utknelismy na parkingu przed Walmartem. Zeby sobie troche poprawic humor, nabylismy artykuly grzesznych przyjemnosci: puszke mielonego tytoniu, paczke papierosow i plotkarski magazyn. A teraz ide sie upic.
P.S. Zaczal padac snieg.
This one goes out to my Dad. Trees up North look like pipe cleaning tools.
To zdjecie jest dla mojego Taty. Drzewa na Polnocy wygladaja jak wyciory do fajki.
