|We have just picked up the keys to our new apartment, we're moving in tomorrow! And today, I present to you the very last pictures from Baltimore.
When our next-door neighbor was moving out of her studio apartment, we thought about taking it over. Later, we changed our minds but it was a score nonetheless, since we got to keep the keys to it. We used 'our second place' for everything we didn't want to do at home: I baked cookies there during the worst heat wave, Lee cooked meat, we stored furniture we found on the street, and... cultivated a garden.
For our garden, I adapted the fire-escape. Our building was falling apart, so we were hesitant to actively use it, but for growing veggies, it was just fine.
The plants came with us to Boston. The last two weeks they've been soaking up sun in the suburbs, but tomorrow we'll move them again. Our new place doesn't even have a fire-escape, but I can't imagine abandoning my ripening tomatoes, peppers, and tomatillos.
|Właśnie odebraliśmy klucze do naszego nowego mieszkania, jutro przeprowadzka! A dzisiaj ostatnie już zdjęcia z Baltimore.
|For our 7th anniversary, Lee ordered seeds of a few varieties of cacti off the internet. We planted them over a month ago and we are still awaiting any sign of life.|
